Membership

1. All Anambra State indigenes, by birth, marriage, adoption, and naturalization, residing in Metropolitan Atlanta, Georgia, U.S.A.

2. All Anambra State indigenes residing outside Atlanta Metropolitan Area but in the State of   Georgia.

3. All Anambra indigenes residing outside the State of Georgia where there is no Anambra State Association can affiliate with us.

The categories in which membership may be conferred shall be:

Full Member: for an adult over the age of 21 years.

Couple Member (Family Membership Option): for a couple legally married.

Youth Member: for an eligible person under 21 years of age and related to a member.

Honorary Member: by conferral by the Organization upon recommendation by the Executive Committee with the approval of the General Membership.

To become a member, one must meet the membership criteria as specified in Item A above, and complete membership application form with a payment of non-refundable fee of forty dollars ($40.00) for single membership, and sixty dollars ($60.00) for couple membership.  An individual is considered a member of ASA-Atlanta only after he or she has made payment toward his or her annual due; registration alone does not make one a member.

Each eligible member shall complete a membership application form and submit the form to Publicity Secretary or Secretary with the appropriate registration fee specified below:

a. Full Member

(1)     Full single membership: $ 40.00

(2)    Couple Membership (Family Membership Option):   $60.00

 In a calendar year, a spouse should pay $20.00 registration fee, if the other spouse had already registered.

 

b. Youth Membership: $ 0.00

c. Honorary Membership: $ 0.00

Each registered member (Single Membership) shall be obligated to pay annual due of $120.00; and each registered couple membership (Family Membership) shall be obligated to pay annual due of $200.00.  All Annual Dues are due by the end of April each year.  There should be no exceptions.  This took effect from 2018.  The calendar year starts January of every year as indicated in the Organization’s Constitution.  Nonetheless, for new members who do not register at the beginning of calendar year, dues are prorated at the time the prospective member joined the Association.

(1) Full single membership: $120.00

(2) Couple Membership (Family Membership Option) $200.00

          

b. Youth Membership: $ 0.00

c. Honorary Membership: $ 0.00

 

Full Member

Each Full Member (Single Membership or Couple Membership) shall be required to pay annual dues specified in the above Item E in full at the time of registration, or by the end of April for members that registered at the beginning of the year.

I agree that I must familiarize myself with Articles III, VI, and X (2) of the Association’s Constitution and subscribe to its terms.  If my application is approved, I agree to abide by this constitution and the Bylaws of this Association’s Foundation that contains the IRS Code Section 501 c (3). I will serve the Association if asked, appointed, or elected to the best of my ability, and without fear or favor. I also agree to pay all dues and levies; and not to engage in any activity or behavior that will bring shame to the Association or put it in any type of dispute, otherwise my membership and privileges may be revoked. If a copy of the Constitution is not available, it will be emailed to me; and it’s my responsibility to read and familiarize myself with its content, and my not reading it is not an excuse in any way or form. My submission of this form acknowledges my acceptance and agreement with the terms hereby stated.  I also agree that my application fee of $40.00 (Single) or $60.00 (Couple) is non-refundable.
